Sta.sh
There I was, running from everything that I cared about and everything that I loved. I may have not been scared, but I had a good reason to keep running. I came to a small clearing in the forest and stopped. I knew they weren’t here, for I had left them back in the other world.
As I sat there, I thought about the world that I had come from. How for five years Nightmare had been threatening everyone’s lives. It wasn’t just him; the one to blame was his shadow. At times, it followed him like a hawk. Other times, it left.
It had killed millions of people, and was after me in particular. It would do anything to get me, so I left to keep my friends safe. Were they safe where I had left them? I only hope so.
I paused my memory. Someone was coming! I picked up a rock and hid in a bush. As I clenched the rock in my fist, I felt fear swell inside me. Suddenly, without thinking, I threw the rock at his head, leaving him slightly bleeding.
“What the hell!” I screamed as I slowly came out of the bush. I found that it was no one that I should have been afraid of, or hurt for that matter. It was just a little, yellow rabbit. “A-are you okay?” I asked.
“Never better,” he sighed as he rubbed his head.
“I’m so sorry, it’s just that I was I was afraid that you were going to kill me,” I told him.
“I-it’s fine,” he said. He seemed not to care that I had thrown a rock at his head.
“I-I’m a bit new here. May I ask, who are you and what is your name?” I said to him.
“I’m a rabbit named Cuddles and who are you?” he asked.
“M-my name’s Moonfall. I’m a cat, and I’m running from someone who’s trying to kill me.” I told him.
Suddenly, something leaped from a nearby bush. It was nothing of which I would have expected and scared me half to death. Then, I realized what all four of them were.
